CITY SWEET CITY ’24
2024 marked my first return to New York City since 2019. As in the past, I was eager to re-visit some of the more familiar visual cues of my favorite city, from the Brooklyn Bridge to Rockefeller Plaza and so on. This time, however, I tried to stay mindful of Thomas Jefferson’s line from HAMILTON, upon his return from France, that is, “what’d I miss?” Indeed, the intervening five years has seen lots of change, both good and bad, inviting me to see the Big Town with refreshed eyes.
